There are a few websites on the internet that discuss songs and their meanings, such as SongMeanings and Songfacts. Here are a few thoughts people posted on Songmeanings about what they figure this song meant:
i think this song is about howhumans are self-destructive.
Oh Oh people on the earth
Listen to the warning
The prophet he said
For soon the cold of night will fall
Summoned by your own hand.
but we are too stupid and stubborn to do anything about the warnings we recieve. And it is probably about Noah's Arc. Everything was flooded and noah built an arc for his family and two of every animal blah blah blah, its basically in the lyrics. "two by two" and "Fly and find the new green bough
Return like a white dove. "noah sent a dove to find love after the rain was over and it brought back a olive branch to show there was still land where they could go.
Noah was the phrophet. no one beileved him and then they all drowned. thats what i think this song mean. it applys to the bible and modern times. i agree with indy about the engineering of the song it just amazing queen was made up of genius'

When I first heard this song, I immediately identified it with the influential philosophical work Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche, but I doubt that was the sole intention of the song - although the character of the prophet himself may have been based o...

This year we will look at the 12 so-called “Minor Prophets.” These are the last 12 books of the Old Testament, starting with Hosea, ending with Malachi. They’re called “minor” not because of their importance, but because of their relative size to other prophetic books, like Isaiah or Jeremiah. Each month will highlight one of these prophets and hopefully spur you on to a more in-depth reading and study of your own.
This month, Obadiah. Luther lectured on Obadiah in 1525, saying (LW 18:190):
“The interpreters are not agreed as to when Obadiah prophesied. They make various judgments about him, since he mentions at the beginning of his prophecy neither the time nor the king under whom he prophesied. This, however, is something one may notice in the books of several of the prophets. Jerome says that this was the Obadiah who, under wicked Ahab and Jezebel, feared for the hundred prophets in the caves, as it is recorded in I Kings 18:3–4. As a result of this [according to Jerome] Obadiah received the gift of prophecy. But this is much like the dreams of old women—like many other points of Jerome whenever he makes rash judgments about sacred matters. In their own commentaries, the Jews draw a different conclusion. To me it seems certain that he prophesied after the Babylonian captivity and that he took his prophecy fro...

His views on education can be found in one of his many memoranda/notebooks that are part of this collection, and it is clear that his views on Quakerism were a strong part of his teaching philosophy:
“To render the Minds of youth attentive to Instruction & to habituate them to a decent & agreeable Deportment, in improved Society, are great Points in Education; but too little attended to by many, with so much Propriety & Utility, as the human Mind’s capable even in juvenile years: –For, in the best & most proper Sense, the Education of youth ought to be considered, as it really is, a Religious Duty & Concern, as being introductory to the great Interests of Virtue & Happiness; while at the same Time, it also embraces the Qualifications for the necessary Employments & other active Concerns of human Life.”
Robert Proud, “Some short Notes & Memoranda by R.P. Philadelphia, Respecting the Scholastic Education of youth among Friends”, 1788 (emphasis original).
His teaching at The Friends School was short-lived and interrupted. From 1775 to 1780, Robert Proud “retired” and went into seclusion. His reasoning was very clear—as a Loyalist, he was in a severe minority in Philadelphia, and he was worried that Patriot committees in the city wo...

What is happening in Chicago happens in the GOP in every city, and it’s time conservatives nationwide put a stop to it.
The Cook County GOP’s recent problems originate in June of 2009 with a complaint filed against a Board Member of the Chicago Young Republicans who tried to force himself sexually upon a young female member of the club. The complaint, copied to the national Young Republicans organization and Lee Roupas at the Cook County GOP, described the man (nicknamed “The Prophet” by members of the club, because of his chronic narcissism, profligate spending, and treatment of club members (both female and male) sexually) plying a young woman with alcohol, refusing to let her leave his apartment, taking her phone away so she could not call for help, pushing her onto a couch and sitting on her so she could not get up to leave, and not taking no for an answer. The young woman left Chicago shortly after this incident, but wanted to make sure the Chicago Young Republicans and the GOP in Chicago knew what “The Prophet” was doing to women, abusing the position of authority he had because of his prominence in the GOP-sanctioned club.

Today, the Western world is concerned about the organizations that use terror under the guise of Islam and this concern is not misplaced. It is obvious that those carrying out terror and their supporters should be punished according to international judicial criteria. However, a more important point to consider is the long-term strategies that have to be pursued for viable solutions to these problems.
The assessments above reveal that terror has no place in Islam. They further show the inherently contradictory nature of the concept of "Islamic terror". This provides us with an important vantage point:
1) The Western world, especially the United States, will surely take the most dissuasive measures to cope with terror and it has the right to do that. However, it has to state explicitly that this is not a war waged against Islam and Muslims but, on the contrary, a measure serving the best interests of Islam. The "Clash of civilizations", the dangerous scenario envisioned in the 90's should be at all costs prevented.
2) Support should be provided for the spread of "True Islam", which is a religion of love, friendship, peace and brotherhood, and for its true understanding by Islamic societies. The solution for radical factions in Islamic countries should not be "forced secularization". ...
